I
I

,I
I
!
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

!
I
I

~iscellaneous Infor~ation

Do we have your correct mailing address? ORS is able to maintain only one
::.-~i]ing address for each recipient government. If you need to make a chr~nge in
the sddress currently being used for your goverr~r~ent, please send a letter to
the Systems Division at the letterhead address, giving us a more current a~]dress.
It is in~ortant to include your revenue sharing account number in any correspon-
d!cute sent to this office.

If you wish to have your revenue sharing payments deposited directly to
>-our government's account at a financial institution, you may d~rect th~s
to do so by completing a Standard Form 1199A. If you need a copy of the
and instructions~ please request one from our Intergovernmental Relations
Division.

Entitlement fonds may be used by your government for any pu~q0ose 'r;hich is a
permissible use of your o'~'a~ revenues under State and local law. The only prohibi-
tion which applies to these f~mds is that they may not be used for lobbying
pur2[~oses intended to influence any legislation regarding the provisions of the
Revenue Sharing Act.

Be sure that you do not use your revenue sharing funds in a discri~dnato~%
manner, both in the areas of employment and delivery of services. Nondiscrimina-
tion requirements apply to the uses of these monies, and you will find a
discussion of this requirement in the. plain-language handbook entitled "Revenue
Sharing Facts for Local Governments." If you do not have the handbook, you may
request one by writing to our Intergovernmental Relations Division.

Final Revenue Sharing regulations, published on September 30, 1981, are
available upon request.

Need More Information?

The Office of Revenue Sharing has no regional or district offices. We work
closely with many State leagues of municipalities, county and township associa-
tions so that these organizations have information which is important to their
members. You may find the answer you need by calling or writing one of these
organizations in your State.

Naturally, we are pleased to be of assistance to you. If we can ans~ser
your questions, please write the Intergovernmental Relations Division at the
letterhead address or telephone us at (202) 634-5200.

Please let us know if we can be more helpful.

Sincerely,

Michael F. Hill
