<br /> ICH}.REAS, the 1980 f4innesota State Legislature, by passage of the
<br />1980 I.taste 14anagement Act, required all metropolitan counties to submit
<br />by June l, 1981, to the ginnesota Pollution Control Agency, an inventory
<br />of five potential new landfill sites in each matropolitan county; and,
<br />
<br /> I.:iH]REAS, Anoka County has participated in a joint powers agreement
<br />~vith the F, etropolitan Inter-County Association; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, through this joint powers agreement and the extensive
<br />effort of the Co~nunity Health and Social Services Board and its [nvironmsnt~l
<br />S~rvlces Committee and upon completion of numerous public meetings and
<br />on-site viewings, the County Board has authorized that five sites be
<br />submitted to the engineering consulting firm for on-site test analysis
<br />to determine technical feasibility of new landfill development; and,
<br />
<br /> I¢HEREAS, the Hinnesota State Legislature, during the 1981 Session,
<br />extended the deadline for submission of the inventory of metropolitan
<br />county landfill sites from June l, 1981 to July 1, 1981; and,
<br />
<br /> IFItEREAS, the final review process of the Environmental Services
<br />Committee and the Anoka County Board of Conmissioners, based upon the
<br />engineering consultants analysis, is near completion; and,
<br />
<br /> I~'ItEREAS, it is the intent of the Anoka County Board of Commissioners
<br />to comply with the ]980 14asia I.',anagement Act and the process for inventor.v
<br />s~te review as prescribed by tho Y, etropolitan Council:
<br />
<br /> NOW, TllEREJORE, BE 1T RESOLVED by the Anoka County Board of Co;r. Mssioners
<br />that they do hereby authorize the Anol:a County Administrator to submit
<br />to the r.',innesota Pollution Control Agency the Anol:a County Inventory
<br />List for new landfill sitings with the condition that the County Board
<br />reserves the right to rescind, alter or amend said list on the basis of:
<br />
<br />1. The findings of the engineering consulting firm.
<br />
<br />2. Final approval of the County Board.
<br />
<br /> BE 1T FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be for~'arded
<br />with the inventory llst to the l-Hnnesota Pollution Control Agency as
<br />submitted by the AnoLa County Administrator.
