The location of Study Area P is. in <br />the City of Ramsey, however, this study area is <br />not located within the approved search area. <br />The location is T32N, R25W, north ]/4 of Section <br />27. <br /> <br />R ES I DENTIAL <br /> <br />No residential units are affected on the pro- <br />posed site, however platted areas exist to the <br />west of the exishing fill area and southeast of <br />proposed area. The south side of. t]'~is site is <br />adjacent to an existing industrial area. <br /> <br />SOILS <br /> <br />PA RKS <br />R ECREATI ON <br /> <br />Soils in this area are sandy over sandy, well <br />drained dark colored soils associated with rapid <br />permeability . · <br /> <br />No existing parks a~]d recreation affect the <br />posed site. There is a light aircraft airport <br />southwest of this proposed site. <br /> <br />SURFACE WATER <br /> <br />Sunfish Lake is adjacent to the proposed site on <br />the east. Three small wetlands exist on. the <br />proposed area, and some wetlands occur in t]~e <br />buffer of the existing landfill. No other sur- <br />face water exists in the vicinity. <br /> <br />AGRICULTURE <br /> <br />INFORMATIONAL <br /> <br />, No current agriculture exists on this property. <br /> The predominant soil cover is grass. Soils for <br /> acriculture are considered as marginal, due to <br /> the sandy, droughtiness of these soils. <br /> <br />Existing access to the present si'te is from <br />County Highway 57. No other site conflicts <br />exist on this proposed site. <br /> <br />SITE OBSERVATION <br />AND CO/,~MENT <br /> <br />Some problems may develop concerning the use of <br />this site as a solid waste facility, in that <br />this site is within 5000' of a public ai~lJort <br />serviced by a piston driven aircraft (FAA O~der <br />5200.5). The services of an expert from the <br />U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will have to <br />determine if there is a potential "Bird Hazard' <br />between the proposed fill area and the existin9 <br />airport facility. <br /> <br />21 <br /> <br /> <br />
