It was assumed that all <br />the residents along the roadway would cooperate and give easements to the City so <br />that the City would become responsible for the maintenance of the street. <br /> <br />In discussing the proposal with Mr. Hoffman, he is not in favor of the original plan <br />and has stated he will not donate the easements for the plan. He has requested that <br />the cul-de-sac be extended to cover his existing driveway and turnaround. He would <br />donate easements for this alternative. <br /> <br />In reviewing Mr. Hoffman's request several problems are apparent. First, the cul- <br />de-sac length would have to be extended another 200 feet beyond the proposed length <br />of 900 feet. The City Code does not allow new plats with cul-de-sacs over 600 feet <br />in length. Secondly, to follow the existing driveway, the 40 feet building setback <br />distance would not be met nor would there be adequate space for snowplowing without <br />removal of trees.
