As' far as the econo,:lc picture, he said that short term rates are :'falling and long term rates are firm. c) Economic Development Subcommittee = Commissioner Fults addressed the Commission in regards to the Economic Development Subcommittee's activities during .the past month, .The members met about the b:cochure they plan on putting out. They feel that we should get it out soon, Commissioner Fults said a loose leaf type would be more apprOp~iate than a booklet because the contents could be changed easier. A brief discussion followed regarding the establishing of a ~%am]~r of · Commerce in Ramsey. Mayor Gamec stated that he spoke to Mr. Darrell Jensen about the possibility of Ramsay and Anoka joining together, however, he stated that he would prefer Ramsey starting their own ~amber of C©mmerce.~ for identity purposes. Chairman Greenberg stated that he would definitely be.in favor of a Ramsey Chamber of Commerce. Commissioner Fults commented that there are citizens -in R~asey that even know their Mayor and Councilmembers. He feels ~that people need to be made aware of what we have here. .~ Commissioner Sentryz commented that some citizens are afraid to come to , City Council meetings because they feel the Council won't listen to them. Mayor Gamec stated that the City is looking at a publishing a monthly. newspaper~ He said that Councilwoman Sue Van Wagner is undertaking this major project. Chairman Greenberg referzed'back to the Chamber of Commerce~question and, stated that he feels it would be to the benefit of Ramsey to join with . Anoka for the time being,-He, doesn't.feel that~Ramsey-would be able to ..... .~ afford the coordinator~'~ha~ ~s~needed for a Chamber of-Commerce.
