J,]oyd Schne].le ].5]53 ~.~owthen Blvd. Ramsey, Minnesota 55303 Dear l,]oyd: I am writing to infoL~ you that the Anoka Country Community Action Progre_m, Inc., bas applied' for a $150,000 grant from the Minnesota Deparl_:~_~ent of Econom].c Security to develop a model pro~£am utilizing alternative energy technology and create jobs for low to moderate income area residents. This grant proposes to provide a grant and/or low interest loan to a business which would utilize the methane gas produced at the Anoka I~ndfill. -At i~,~.'esent we understand that Waltek is developing plans for their potential expansion and may be able to utilize this methane gas in either its raw or l~rocessed form. We have received a favorable review on this grant and are optomistic about our chances for approval. If selected we will negotiate the te_~ms of this assistance with the Company directly. We have not received formal approval at this time but expect to hear the final decision within two weeks. As the City Manager of the affected city, it is imperative that you are in- formed of actions which could affect this project. I will see that you are kept up to date on actions relative to this grant, and subsequent negotiations. Please keep this information, confidential until such time as more definite answers are available.
