M <br /> O BILE CLUB <br /> <br /> ANOKA, MINNESOTA 55303 <br /> <br />! <br />! <br /> <br />July 6, 1982 <br /> <br />~layor and City Council <br />City of Ramsey <br />15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W. <br />Anoka, ~i~eosta 55303 <br /> <br />! <br />! <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Re: Sno-Barons Snowmobile Club <br /> 16th Annual Hay Day Race <br /> <br />Dear Mr. ?]ayor and Councilmembers: <br /> <br />During the past fifteen years, the '-Sno-Barons Snowmobile <br />Club has been holding am]ual snowmobile grass drag races. <br />This year our 16th Annual Hay Day Race, which is scheduled <br />for September 12, 1982, can not be held at the ususal race <br />site located at Highway 65 and 101st St. N.E. in Blaine <br />because the land is being developed for commercial use. <br /> <br />Consequently, we have been looking for a new site and have <br />found acreage owned by Mr. Jack Menkfelt at the junction <br />of Highway 10 and Armstrong Blvd. Mr. Menkfelt has agreed <br />to rent us the land for this use contingent on the City of <br />Ramsey approving the activity within the city limits. <br /> <br />Our activity is a one day event which st-arts around 11:00 <br />a.m. and finishes approximately 6:00 p.m. The event is <br />sanctioned by the Southern Wisconsin Drag Racing Associa- <br />tion and involves racing snowmobiles on a grass track <br />150 feet wide by 1500 feet long. The race is manned by a <br />paramedic ambulance crew and requires a water truck. <br />Displays will be set up by snowmobile dealers such as <br />Raoids Sports Center exhibitling new snowmobile equipment <br />while food and beverage concessions (including beer) will <br />be operated by our club. SWDRA furnishes insurance for <br />racing related incidents and the Sno-Barons provide <br />liability insurance for the beer. Enclosed is a copy of <br />last year's Liqour Liability Insurance Policy. <br /> <br />! <br />! <br /> <br /> <br />
