Ramsey, Minnesota 55303 ANOKA, MINNESOTA 55303 612-421-4760 RE: '1982 Anoka County CDBG Grant Award Dear Hayor Gamec: I am pleased to inform you that the Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded Anoka County a grant of $1,804,000 under the Fiscal Year 1982 Comunity Development Block Grant Program. The program period for the 1982 grant beqins on June 30, 1982. Please be aware that no expenses for which you expect to be reimbursed by 1982 CDBG funds may be incurred prior to the June 30 effective date. The Funding Approval Form received by the County identifies special conditions affecting the grant. The first condition is that funds for activities needing environmental review and clearance cannot be obligated or expended before that process is complete. The environmental review process essentially applies to all projects except housing rehabilitation or public services. The second condition requires correction of any inconsistencies between your proposed use of 1982 funds and requirements included in new regulations yet to be published that will implement the 1981 amendment to the Housing and Community Development Act. Any inconsistencies noted will need to be corrected within 90 days of the effective date of the regulations. In effect, this could mean that a project considered, to date, eligible for funding with 1982 CDBG funds could become ineligible under the terms of the new regulations when published. County staff will monitor this situation carefully to plan the best course of action in the event of a change in regulations. Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer
