Fields, Chairman Anoka Co~mty Board of Commissioners 15421 Rolind [~ke Blvd. Anoka, MN 55303 RE: City of Ramsey establishing estimated market valuations on farmland falling within the purview of the Green Acres classification Dear Mr. Fields: On June 15, 1982, the City of Ramsey and the farmers of our community met with Mr. Lyle Ask, Director, Property F~ualizatlon Divfsion of the Department of Revenue, State of Minnesota, regarding the establishing of the estimated market value on tillable land that falls within the Green Acres classification. Mr. Ask pointed out to the people at this meeting the mechanics in establishing estimated market valuations on the above type of land. Accordingly, the City of Ramsey was informed at the meeting that the Ramsey City Assessor could if so desired by its City Council establish these estimated market valuations. Mr. Ask states in the letter which I am enclosing that there will not be any problem with this procedure and that the County Assessor would welcome the City of Ramsey lifting this burden off of his shoulders. Consequently, the purpose of this letter is to inform you, the County Board and the County Assessor, Mr. Gayle Leone, that the Ramsey City Assessor, Mr. LeDter Wirz, will establish all of the estimated market valuations on tillable land within the City of Ramsey. Should you or any of the above have any objections to the City of Ramsey handling the establishing of the estimated market valuations on tillable land in the City of Ramsey, it is requested that you come to the next regular Ramsey City Council meeting on July 27, 1982 at'7:30 p.m. to state your reasons for objecting to the above.
