I I I I, I I City of City Hall Anoka, Minnesota 55303 2015 First Avenue (612) 421-6630 RESOLUTION 81-26 ~{ER?~$, the City of .Ramsay has submitted their Comprehensive Plan to the City of Anoka for review pursuant to the requirements of the Metropolitan Land Planning Act; and ~tERKAS, as a nearly fully developed community and freestanding growth center, the City of An0ka has an interest in the character, pattern, scale, and timing of development in adjacent developing communities such as the City of Ramsay; '' NOW THE~;FORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the.Anoka City Council hereby submits the following co~mments regarding the City of Ramsay Comprehensive Plan: 1. That the City of Anoka strongly approves of provisions in the City of Ramsay Comprehensive Plan for multiple family housing districts, dev%top-. ment of an adequate park system, and creation of a paratransit system and p.ark 'n' ride sites. 2. 2"nat the City of. Anoka o~posas the UMB-H zone along the east side of t~'~i way 47 which is adjacent to the existing single family area in Anoka. i[~.2[j~f~i~._k~-~-]~- ~-- lower density transition zo~e is needed in this location. 3. The City of Anoka has serious concern about the I~-H and'IRiB-M zones between Hwy. 47 hnd the Rum River because they are immediately across the river from the Anoka High School and city park land. We are concerned about setbacks from the ~tver and building heights. 4. The City gf An5ka ha~ concern about the B-1 zone at the intersection of Hwy. 47 and Industry Avenue because our proposed Land Use Plan indicates medium density r~sidential use on the southwest corner of this intersection. A site development plan for'this B-1 zone in tLa~sey, should take our pro- posed use into account. . 5. The City of Anoka questions the length Of the B-1 commercial strip along Hwy. 10. This strip is 3¼ miles in length and shows some existing resi- dentially platted lots for'commercial use on the west end. We believe this commercial area is excess and-will have'a detrimental effect upon '- existing commercial development in Anoka. The City of Anoka questions ~the size and location of other zoning districts a) The excessive size of the industrial zone extending 3~ miles along the north sid& of'the Burlington Northern Railroad which may have a detrimental effect upon'other industrial areas which will soo~ be served by u~ilities. ~.
