IR amsey, Minnesota 55303 Attention: Mr. Lloyd Schnelle City Administrator Subject: Acceptance and Final Payment Street Improvement Projects 81-4, 81-6, 81-9, 81-10, 81-19 and 81-20 Dear Sir: We herein recommend acceptance of ali work and approval of final pay- ment for the above referenced improvement projects. We certify that the work was performed in compliance with the contract documents, technical specifications, and plans for the project. The projects consisted of the following: 81-4 - the area west of County Road 56 and north of 150th Lane 81-6 - Peltzer Addition 81-9 - Ford Brook Estates 81-10 - Greenland Hills and adjacent unplatted areas 81-19 - DriscolI Street, Bough Street, 169th Lane and 173rd Avenue 81-20 - 15flth Lane and Rhinestone Street The contract award was for $526,379.00. The total amount for work completed on the project is $51Zt,120.54 or approximately 2% less than the contract amount. A portion of the underrun is accounted for by Lhe fact that grading on two drainage easements wasn't compleLed since the easement acquisition Look longer than expected. In discus- sions with City Engineer Peter Raatikka, we were informed the work could be done by others at a later date. The original completion date was for December 9, 1981, and all paving was substantially complete at that time. The contractor was given an- extension of Lime Lo the spring of 1982 to complete the restoration work. We recommend payment to the contractor in the amount of $41,691.11, and that final payment of $25,706.03 (5% of actual earned amount) be withheld pending receipt from the contractor of the following:
