Mayor Gamec stated that Mr. Tranby is in the Elk River School
district and that is what is killing him on his taxes. Mr. Wirz stated that
increase in EMV was due to the 672 sq. ft. of finished basement and 1700 sq.
ft. of concrete driveway. Councilmember Cox suggested that Mr. Tranby vote
in the next Elk River School Election and further that he should find out
from Sherburne County Offices what his taxes would be if he lived in Sherburne
County and see how much of a discrepancy there is with regard to school taxes.

Council Action: None.

Case #4: David Baack - 6500 170th Lane N.W.

Mr. Baack stated that this EMV increased to $75,800 and that he has been
informed by his contractor that the same house, on the same lot, can be
built for $68,000. Fie further stated that he could not sell his home for
$75,800. Mr. Wirz stated that one reason for the increase is the pool on
his property. Mr. Baack stated that he does not have a pool, but that the
owner of 6500 170th Ave. does. Mr. Wirz stated that Mr. Baack was assessed
$5,184 for the pool and correction will be made.

Council Action: None.

Case #5: Larry Henke - 8062 154th Avenue N.W.

Mr. Henke stated that he has recently moved into his home and was just
wondering what his taxes are going to be. Mr. Wirz answered his questions.

Council Action: None.

Case #6: Neal Beck - 17710 Eaton Street

Mr. Beck stated that his EMV went from $67,500 last year to $72,100 this year.
He further stated that he lives in the north end of Ramsey, which should be
considered out of commuting distance from the metropolitan area, his home is
12 years old and should actually only be worth $65,000. He stated that his
school taxes alone are more than some of his friends are paying total tax.
Mr. Sorteberg stated that Mr. Beck's EMV is in line, based on similar property
in the City of Ramsey. Mr. Beck stated that if he could move his home 600',
he would then be in Sherburne County and his taxes would drop $400 and further
that the City Council should do something about this unfair taxing of citizens
in the north end of Ramsey. Councilmember Cox stated that the Council has
been working very had to change the tax structure and that the City needs the
support of the people.

Council Action: None.

Case #7: Dennis Stulc - 8120 154th Avenue

Mr. Stulc stated that his EMV went from $50,400 last year to $69,900 and that
there must be some mistake. Mr. Stulc asked that Mr. Wirz check his recorde
to make sure that he was not assessed for improvements made to 8120 154th Lane.
Mr. Wirz stated that this was the case and correction will be made.

Council Action: None.

BoR/June 1, 1982
Page 2
