I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I TO: FROM: RE: DATE: City Administrator Building Official Monthly Report June 14, 1982 With nine houses and well over $600,000 in permit valuations, late May and early June proved to be one of the most active months for building for the past Couple of years. ~]ere are no apparent reasons for this surge as interest rates have not, to my knowledge, dropped. It is possible people just have gotten tired of waiting for better rates. With the exception of a couple of minor items of which the contractor has been notified, all work has now been completed on the lower level. ~]ere is still evidence, however, of a moisture problem on the outside wall in the senior area. Neither Hydro-therm or Carl Johnson Plumbing have contacted us further on the problem with our boiler. I will attempt to contact them prior to the City Council meeting to see exactly what they intend to do with this problem. Letters were sent to several individuals in regards to various items. Mr. Leo Deschenes was notified by certified mail that I had temporarily pulled his contrac- tor's license because of his apparent lack of concern with the City's requirements for acquiring sewer repair permits and having the work inspected. I have asked him to appear before the City Council to explain his actions. All the energy conservation items have now been completed. Inasmuch as the air conditioner shuts off at 5:00 p.m., it may be advisable for yourself and members of the City Council to know how to turn the system on manually.
