I Cou]~cilmember Cox introduced the foll~.'.,'jr~: rc~olutjon and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION ~82-25 WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council has received Draft Environmental Impact Statement for County Road #116 extension from County State Aid Highway ~7 to State Trunk Highway #47. WHEREAS, Ramsey City Council has reviewed the alternative listed in the above Draft Environmental Impact Statement. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF R3tMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) The City of Ramsey supports the alternative 3 alignment for the Rum River Bridge Crossing. 2) The City of Ramsey does not see any negative environmental impacts created by Alternative 3. 3) The City of Ramsey encourages that this bridge crossing be con- structed as soon as possible to provide the following critical services to the City of Ramsey: a) The only r'oute free of railroad crossings for emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fire trucks and police vehicles. Currently, these vehicles are held up at the railroad cross- ings by slow-moving trains. b) This bridge crossing would provide a safer and more 'economical route for school buses. This ~ridge crossing would.eliminate the need for use of the poorly constructed State Highway #47 through Anoka which is a highly congested area. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamect Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox and Van Wagner and the following voted against the same: None and the following member(s) were absent: Councilmember Re imann
