Yes, there will be a Summer Youth Program in 1982.
2. Yes, job sites are needed in your area.

Plans are being finalized for this year's Summer Youth Programs. Your
cooperation is needed in providing suitable jobs for youth ages 14-21.
Your consideration of pre-entry level positions is encouraged. Positions
such as receptionist, filing clerk, general office aide, teacher's aide,
recreation aide, child care aide, custodial worker, and outdoor/parks
maintenence are typical. All occupational areas need to expand opportun-
ities for youth involvement in the working' world to learn, to develop skills,
and estab]ish good work habits. Where a possibility exists, effective re-
sults can be acheived by job re-structuring to match the limited experience
and skill levels of youth.

Job slots should be based on six weeks of employment for each youth. Youth,
ages 16-21, may work up to a maximum of 28 hours per week. Youth ages 14-15
will be limited to 14-16 hours per week.

Jobs may begin as early as June 14th. The starting date at your worksite
will depend on your needs and the date of completion for the school year in
your area. Most jobs should be ended by August 6th. Youth who start work on
June 14th will expect to complete their C.E.T.A. payroll time on July 23rd.

Enclosed are job description forms which you will need to complete and return
to me at the C.E.T.A. office. .Thee due date for submitting your request is on
or before April' 16th. If summer ~'chool cut-backs, staff lay-off, or other
pending administrative decisions make this date a problem for you, please let
me know.

I am looking forward to your participation in this year"s Summer Youth Program.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 571-8500.

EP/ph
