I
I

Patricia C. Bayer
9500 Ermine Blvd.
Anoka, MN 55303

To~

City of Ramsey

Desr Councilpersons:

I
I
I
I
I
I

I have recently become aware of the contract that Ramsey
'holds with the Elk River Fire Department. On Octoberl8,
there wss a small fire on my property. It was a small fort
in my bsckyard.

My neighbor noticed the smoke and called the Elk River Fire
Department. In a matter Of minutes, she discovered that it was
only a small fire that was already being extinguished and
called the fire department back and cancelled the call; however,
a few minutes later a fire engine and a small fire truck arrived
at my residence. The~ used no sirens. One fireman asked my
name and they left' ~hey made no effort to ask questions or
help extinguish th~ quickly-dying fire.

-I feel that if {he Ramsey Community was aware of this contract,
they would take ~,action to change it. I'm sure they-do' not
realize that if one day'while having' a barbecue,'I could notice
smoke in their backyard, call the Elk River Fire Department,'
and my neighbor would 'be stuck with the bi'il. ..
T~s bill ~or $225.~s~:sO u~2ust thJt I refuse to pa~ it, or '
even refer t% to'my Insurance. I~ the Elk River Fire Depart~'en~
would~'~4ve~'made an effort to help, even after'the 'ca'nce~lati~n,'

Sincerely,

Patri'cia C. Bayer ''
