Voting no ZONING, REQUEST FOR; CASE OF MR. J. STEPHEN SCH~IDT: Council, at their regular meeting of November 10, 1981, authorized the City Staff by resolution to engage a professional planner to review Mr. J. Stephen Schmidt's request to rezone a 5.5 acre piece of land located at the intersection of State Highway #47 and 167th Avenue NW from R-1 to B-1. Accordingly, we (City Administrator, City Attorney and City Engineer) have met with Gunner Isberg, a very fine planner, in regards to the proposed rezoning request from R-1 to B-1. He states that his hourly rate is $35 per hour and his max- imum time for this would be 25 hours or $875. We did cover the whole issue with Mr. Isberg and we also went out and showed him the area. Enclosure (D2-c) contains Mr. Schmidt's letter in regards to this case. Council Action: Your action will be to note that the City Staff has gotten a planner who will review and submit a report to you on the above case as per Council resolution. Should Council not desire the City to engage the above planner, they should so state and give dir-~ ection.
