Anol a County, Minnesota <br /> <br /> ]1/3/81 ]~]~$O/,1JTIO~/~/0. 81-100 <br /> <br />C)~]~TCI~)B¥CO~$SIO~ F~elds ~nd L~ng <br /> <br /> RE-AFFIRMATION OF 911 EMERGENCY TELEPHONE SERVICE <br /> FOR ALL CITIZENS IN ANOKA COUNTY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Anoka County has joined with the other six ~ <br /> counties' in a joint powers agreement for 911 emergency tel <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, the purpose of' said agreement is to ~omply w <br /> of Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 403,. for the implementation <br /> of a regional 911 emergency telephone system; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Anoka County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />County has joined with the other six metropolitan <br /> emergency telephone systems; <br /> <br />the purpose of said agreement is to comply wi-th the mandates <br /> and administration <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br /> has agreed to an <br />assessment procedure whereby the budge~ of each respective county shall <br />provide for necessary assessment against the valuation of each county <br />for the installation of the 911 emergency telephone system; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Anoka County Bbard of Commissioners has previously <br />requested tha~ the Wyoming and Elk River telephone exchanges be selectively - <br />routed and have approved the automatic location and number-identification <br />feature for the. public· safety answe~ing~ point (PSAP) equipment; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Northwestern Bell communicated to the Anoka County Administration <br />Office' on December4-, 1980 that Anoka County'could selectively route all <br />telephones' within its jurisdictional boundaries at its oWn discretion; <br />and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Northwestern Bell communicated again one year later that <br />'selectively routing of Elk River and Wyoming telephone exchanges in <br />Anoka County would downgrade.basic 91Z services in Sherburne and Chisago <br />Counties; although the letter indicated in no way that Anoka County <br />could not at its sole discretion decide to selectively route all telephones <br />within its jurisdictional boundaries; and, <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Anoka County Administration office has met with representatives <br />of the State of Minnesota, the Metropolitan Council., Northwestern Bell, <br />and Continental Telephone Company, on September 24, 30 and October 14, <br />1981, to discuss:alternatives in selectively routing telephones in Anoka <br />County in the Elk River and Wyoming telephone exchanges; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has request6d that Anoka County <br />provide its decision to the State on selective routing after being <br />advised of the alternatives: <br /> <br /> <br />
