Governor Wangberg on October 30, 9981 Dear Mr. Bond: In reference to the above meeting with Lt. Governor Wangberg, we discussed as a conclusion to this meeting that we wanted to see two Ad Hoc Committees/ Commissions appointed by the Governor to review current laws covering the following major issues in the State of Minnesota: a) Local Government Aid to Cities - We feel that an Ad Hoc Committee should review this law and submit their recommendation to the Governor in regards to making the law equitable to all of the Cities in Minnesota. b) State tax laws and other related laws that discourage the expanding/ developing of commercial and industrial development - We feel that an Ad Hoc Committee should review all aspects of these laws and how they are harming Minnesota's growth. We also feel that special emphasis has to be placed in getting more equality in the property tax area between business property, rental property and homestead residential property.
