He had seen how many employees it <br />takes in other cities to get the same.job done and we have also kept costs <br />way down. There are enough reports published to prove this -- even at the <br />State Auditor's office. He stated he didn't know what more you can expect <br />of your employees. Government employees should be productive and should <br />be paid well for their productivity because in the long run they will save <br />the City money. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg <br />to raise all salaries of all full time City employees to the midpoint range <br />within their respective positions. Further, all salary increases which ex- <br />ceed the 15% or more will be phased in over a 21 month period. Those salary <br />increases less than 15% will be effective January 1, 1982.
