COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> <br />COURTHOUSE <br /> <br />The Honorable Tom Gamec <br />Mayor, City of Rarasey <br />5810 Neon Street N.W. <br />Anoka, Minnesota 55303 <br /> <br /> ANOKA, MINNESOTA 55303 <br />October 29, 198l <br /> <br /> 612-421-4760 <br /> <br /> · '-'.' ,.. ~. - .t..-~, . <br />if::~" OCT ~981 <br /> <br />Dear I4ayor Gamec: <br /> <br />I am writing to request that you give in~nediate attention to the attached <br />Joint Cooperation Agreement which pertains to the County's designation <br />as an "Urban County" under the Con.unity Development Block Grant Program. <br />According to HUD guidelines, it is imperative that Anoka County receive <br />a copy of the Joint Cooperation Agreement prior to ~ovember 13, 1981. <br /> <br />Because of special legislation, Anoka County again has the opportunity <br />to participate in the Con~nunity Development Block Grant Program on <br />behalf of all of its municipalities and townships for fiscal year 1982. <br />It is anticipated that this program would mean approximately $2 million <br />of new Federal money in Anoka County. <br /> <br />Nineteen communities elected ,to submit project activities to Anoka <br />County in the fiscal 1981Anoka County Community Development Block Grant <br />Program. The entire County has benefited by the funding of the 26 <br />community projects and the County-wide housing rehabilitation effort. <br /> <br />The attached agreement represents only the enabling step for the County's <br />application. Through the activities of the Technical Advisory Cor~nittee <br />and the assistance of County staff, the cities and townships will develop <br />their projects to be submitted to the County Board for review and approval. <br /> <br />The County Board is pleased to have had the opportunity to participate <br />with the cities and townships in the Corrmunity Development Block Grant <br />Program for fiscal year 1981 and looks forward to continued cooperation <br />tn the 1982 Program. <br /> <br />Affirmative Action / Egual Opportunity Employer <br /> i <br /> <br /> <br />
