To The City of Ramsey February 27, 2016 In regard to the request for a pigeon license on property 15340 Jackal St N.W. 1. I would like to see this request declined, due to the fact that the coop on this property is very unsightly and degrades the neighborhood, 2. The pigeon droppings are a health hazard, and I have not seen clean up of these droppings on a regular basis, thus causing wind to carry this waste in the air around the neighborhood. 3. Pigeons are taken out of coop and fly around over the top of property at 15410 Jackal St., roof of shed on said property can be ruined by acidity in the droppings thus causing damage to painted finish over time. They are also landing in our trees thus droppings on the ground causing a possible buildup and health issue. The coop has been placed off the property line, but just feet in front of the doors on our shed which is used often and I have concerns of pollution and these can also be a hazardous health issue to the elderly and cause irreversible damage to the lungs. 4. Since there is no regulation on pigeons, I have no current idea of number of them in the coop, but the number has been increased since the original amount brought in in November, which is a concern that occupants will not adhere to maximum quantity allowed if a license is issued. 5. If these are indeed racing pigeons, I have concerns that an event for racing may be held on the property and the city could be looking at an influx of pigeons at any one time, also additional traffic. 6. I would request that if the city grants a license the coop be moved to the back of the property behind their home and painted or sided to match the color of the house thus not causing an eyesore from the street, although it still will probably cause a devaluation of our neighborhood properties.
