Orr Uission: To work together to resposihty grow our community, and to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient government ierwlcea. <br />CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 03/22/2016 <br />By: Jo Thieling, Administrative Services <br />7. 4. <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Adopt Resolution #16-03-054 Appointing Councilmember Kristine Williams to the Fit for the Future Community <br />Task Force, Anoka -Hennepin School District <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Purpose: The purpose of this case is to appoint Councilmember Kristine Williams to the Fit for the Future <br />Community Task Force, Anoka -Hennepin School District. <br />Background: The Fit for the Future Task Force will develop recommendations on updating existing schools and <br />providing new classroom space to accommodate increasing enrollment. The recommendations will help the District <br />develop a plan for providing adequate classroom space for the next 10 to 15 years. The team will be meeting once <br />a month from April through November, except July. It will present a report to the School Board in January 2017. <br />Mayor Strommen received correspondence from Linda Rodgers, Coordinator for Anoka -Hennepin Parent <br />Involvement. Ms. Rodgers noted that because Ramsey is experiencing housing growth, the District is asking for <br />help in finding a City Councilmember or City staff member who could serve on the task force to represent the City. <br />She noted there is also a parent representative from Ramsey that has already been selected from online applicants. <br />Staff sent an email was sent to Councilmembers asking if they would consider serving on this task force; <br />Councilmember Williams volunteered to do so. <br />Attached is a resolution officially appointing Councilmember Williams to the Fit for the Future Task Force for <br />Anoka Hennepin School District. <br />Notification: <br />Ms. Rodgers, Coordinator, Anoka -Hennepin Parent Involvement, has been notified that Councilmember Kristine <br />Williams is willing to serve on the Fit for the Future Community Task Force. <br />Funding Source: <br />N/A <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff is recommending the City Council adopt the attached resolution appointing Councilmember Kristine Williams <br />to serve on the Fit for the Future Community Task Force, Anoka -Hennepin. <br />Action: <br />Motion to adopt Resolution #16-03-054 Appointing Councilmember Kristine Williams to serve on the Fit for the <br />Future Community Task Force, Anoka -Hennepin School District. <br />
