Information Title: Adopt Resolution #16-03-054 Appointing Councilmember Kristine Williams to the Fit for the Future Community Task Force, Anoka -Hennepin School District Purpose/Background: Purpose: The purpose of this case is to appoint Councilmember Kristine Williams to the Fit for the Future Community Task Force, Anoka -Hennepin School District. Background: The Fit for the Future Task Force will develop recommendations on updating existing schools and providing new classroom space to accommodate increasing enrollment. The recommendations will help the District develop a plan for providing adequate classroom space for the next 10 to 15 years. The team will be meeting once a month from April through November, except July. It will present a report to the School Board in January 2017. Mayor Strommen received correspondence from Linda Rodgers, Coordinator for Anoka -Hennepin Parent Involvement. Ms. Rodgers noted that because Ramsey is experiencing housing growth, the District is asking for help in finding a City Councilmember or City staff member who could serve on the task force to represent the City. She noted there is also a parent representative from Ramsey that has already been selected from online applicants. Staff sent an email was sent to Councilmembers asking if they would consider serving on this task force; Councilmember Williams volunteered to do so. Attached is a resolution officially appointing Councilmember Williams to the Fit for the Future Task Force for Anoka Hennepin School District. Notification: Ms. Rodgers, Coordinator, Anoka -Hennepin Parent Involvement, has been notified that Councilmember Kristine Williams is willing to serve on the Fit for the Future Community Task Force. Funding Source: N/A Recommendation: Staff is recommending the City Council adopt the attached resolution appointing Councilmember Kristine Williams to serve on the Fit for the Future Community Task Force, Anoka -Hennepin. Action: Motion to adopt Resolution #16-03-054 Appointing Councilmember Kristine Williams to serve on the Fit for the Future Community Task Force, Anoka -Hennepin School District.
