n-i nneso'ba cities <br /> <br />'1 <br /> <br />m <br /> <br />August 14, 1981 <br /> <br />· <br />~ Dear City Officials: <br /> <br /> Enclosed with this letter is a questionnaire requesting information on the <br />Icity's cash flow situation by month throughout the year. This questionnaire <br />is part of a study being conducted by the State Finance Department in an <br />attempt to avoid recurrence of the cash flow problems which the state has <br /> <br />m encountered over the past year. <br /> Payments to local governments - local government aids, homestead credit, <br /> mschool aids, etc. - make up a large portion of the state's budget. Thus, <br /> the state's cash shortages in the past have resulted in delays and rescheduling <br /> of aid payments. <br /> <br />IThese payments also represent a substantial part of cities' budgets. It <br />is important both to the state and to cities that the state have good <br />information on cities' cash situation throughout the year in order to <br />massure that any actions taken .by the state do not create new problems <br /> at the local level..
