Mr. Rustad stated that the pump specifications compare to surrounding communities and mutual <br />aid. He also stated that five dealers offer the Waterous pump and it is manufactured locally. <br />This would minimize down time for maintenance and parts needed would be readily available. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley inquired if other departments have similar vehicles. <br /> <br />Mr. Rustad stated that vehicles were comparable with other communities in Anoka County. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley inquired if specifications should include an "or equal" clause to ensure competitive <br />bidding. <br /> <br />Mr. Rustad stated that the Waterous pump would serve the City's needs better. <br /> <br />Tanker/Pumper <br /> <br />Mr Hartley inquired if these were open specifications. <br /> <br />Mr. Rustad stated that manufacturers will custom build. <br />much less expensive than other models. <br /> <br />He stated that the Ford model chassis is <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Review Bid results for Turn-Out Gear and make recommendation to the City <br />Council <br /> <br />Mr. Williams reported on behalf of the Turn-Out Gear Committee and stated that bid results had <br />been reviewed by Ms. Thul and himself, reviewed by the members of the Fire Department and <br />that their recommendation is to award total bid to Clarey's Safety Equipment, Inc. located in <br />Rochester, Mn. <br /> <br />Ms. Thul stated that Clarey's did not bid on the choppers listed in the specifications. The reason <br />being that no choppers on the market, at this time, meet NFPA standards and thus, do not meet <br />specifications. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Breu to accept Clarey's total bid and make recommendation to the City Council, <br />seconded by Mr. Pearson. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mr. Rustad, Mr. Cordie, Mr. Bawden, Mr. Pearson, Mr Breu and <br />Ms. Thul. Voting no: None.
