IMPLEMENTATION PRIORITIES
Summary
The culmination of these 18-22 projects results in a more focused, realistic, innovative and flexible strategy
providing over 90 percent of the operational and safety benefits of the freeway for less than 50 percent of the
cost of a freeway. Each of the projects identified has independent utility and range in cost from several hundred
thousand up to 26 million dollars. Half of the projects are estimated at five million dollars or less. This strategy
is consistent with MnDOT's MnSHIP Plan and Enhancing Financial Effectiveness efforts and the Metropolitan
Council's Transportation Policy Plan. It provides MnDOT, Anoka County and partnering cities with more flexibility
to match projects with available funding.
1Ea,6
909
0%
r
J
Safety Benefit -vs -Project Cost
J
• .; Piryr
• $5;k $ H
Mid berm Priorities
• p.;.hotel
Shots Term Priorities
• 11,14.0,
tRUTIKEEN Priurilie$
• •S Papal
• In
•••••
PrEVinus
FreewayVision
Lower Cost - High Benefit Approach
95Q/ of Safety Benefit
for Less than 50% of Cost
Da Nothing
$ $59 510G 5150 $200 $20 5300
Cost 'I$F•'•
Operation Benefit -vs -Project Cost
Previous
94%treerxat Vision
driven
• 7.b•
% nr • 1144 $41N
c 7096 / Merl Perm Mollies
a If NPatipith
ti, rya
Si!rTerm Priorities
i096
• obi , sirn
Li u.X% Lower Cost - High Benefit Approach
ininediatePriofities 90% of Operational.
