The Hawaii County Council is "considering a resolution <br />in support of local control" over such rentals. The resolution would <br />distinguish single-family residential use from single-family vacation rental <br />use and would allow counties to use their zoning authority to phase out <br />"nonconforming" rentals. <br />Source: Skiff; http://skift.com <br />MARYLAND <br />Seven years in the making, Baltimore City Council members are work- <br />ing on "the final details of a long-awaited update to Baltimore's antiquated <br />zoning code." Public hearings were scheduled for several dates in October <br />on the new zoning ordinance, known as "Transfoinu Baltimore." <br />Source: Baltimore Business Journal; www.bizjournals.com <br />MICHIGAN <br />Detroit is considering legislation related to medical marijuana <br />dispensaries. The zoning portion of the proposed ordinance "would allow <br />special places known as Medical Marihuana Caregiver Centers to exist as a <br />conditional land use" in designated zoning districts.
