Under current state law, a public body
need only retain meeting minutes and "tape recordings" for one year.
Source: Capital Gazette; www.capitalgazette.com
WISCONSIN
Reportedly some legislators "have revived legislation that would al-
low Dane County towns to opt out of county zoning, a measure pushed
for two years by the Dane County Towns Association." The changes are
opposed by many county, city and village officials who fear they would
"fragment decision-making and could erode the current balance of
farmland and development in the county." Meanwhile, supporters of the
changes argue that they would allow for "more local autonomy to grow
tax bases.rdquo;
Source: The Cap Times; http://host.madison.corn
12 © 2016 Thomson Reuters
