COMMISSION BUSINESS

Case #2: Accept Resignation Of Mr. Ron Erickson From Airport
Commission:

The Commission consensus was to recommend that City Council accept Mr. Erickson's
resignation, advertise to fill the vacancy and forward a letter of appreciation to Mr.
Erickson.

Case #1: Airport Status Update:

Chairman Ippel stated that FAA has indicated that they would like to delay responding to the
Gateway North Airport Environmental Information Document (Eft)) until the County has
completed it's Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Site P. After further discussions
with key personnel at FAA, they have agreed to initiate work on their review and response
to the EID. Mn/DOT has issued a finding of no significant impact in the ElD.

Chairman Ippel referred to the Metropolitan Airport Commission's (MAC) adequacy study
which indicates that Gateway is important to the regional system. On that basis, Chairman
Ippel stated that he has been pursuing MAC support for Gateway. Personnel at MAC have
indicated that consideration is being given to hiring consultants to research the impact of
including Gateway and South St. Paul in MAC's reliever airport system.

Chairman Ippel provided the Commission with an update regarding Ramsey's request to
Metro Council for a Comprehensive Plan Amendment to expand the MUSA boundaries.
Chairman Ippel noted that Metro Council's response to the request for a MUSA expansion
includes discussion of Gatway North Airport and indicates that Metro Council supports
public ownership of it.

Chairman Ippel~ stated that the City is also waiting for a determination from the Attorney
General as to whether or not the Ramsey Airport Zoning Referendum was in conflict with
State Statute. The particular State Statute indicates that land use issues cannot be resolved
by referendum.

Commissioner Greenberg dismissed himself from the meeting at 8:35 p.m.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Commissioner Emery and seconded by Commissioner Dahlin to adjourn the
regular Airport Commission meeting.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Ippel, Commissioners Dahlin, Barnes, Chapman
and Emery. Voting No: None.
