COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Accept Letter of Resignation from Mr. Roger Anderson <br /> <br />The Commission consensus was to recommend that City Council accept Mr. Anderson's <br />resignation. Commissioner Emery made a motion seconded by Commissioner Donovan to <br />authorize Ms. McAIoney, Personnel Coordinator, City of Ramsey, to advertise to fill the vacancy <br />and forward a letter of appreciation to Mr. Anderson. <br /> <br />Case #2: Review of Letter from Metropolitan Airports Commission: <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel read the letter from Metropolitan Airport Commission (MAC) and reviewed it's <br />meaning. (See Attachment A) The letter is regarding the possibility of MAC acquiring and <br />operating Gateway North Industrial Airport. They are also looking into the possibility of <br />acquiring an airport in South St. Paul. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding ways Mac could help assist community's airports stay afloat. <br /> <br />Case #3: Update on Environmental Assessment Worksheet: <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel read the memorandum from Medand Otto and the commission discussed it. (See <br />Attachment B). FAA will type up a letter to the City Administrator and the Mayor probably <br />with the clause "No financial assistance until existing landfill ceases operations." "City will be <br />responsible for preventing future landfill within 5000 feet. <br /> <br />Probably no federal funds would be allocated in 1990, may want to look at 1991 funding. <br /> <br />It was agreed that MC, MAC, FAA, State and City should meet regarding finances, willingness to <br />proceed with acquisition and assurance of financial assistance from agencies. City can being <br />acquisition at any time with costs subject to reimbursement following acquisition guidelines. <br /> <br />The question was raised about whether or not there was an answer from the Attorney General <br />regarding the Zoning Referendum. The message from Bill Goodrich, City Attorney, was that "It <br />is on schedule - will be done if not end of September, very early part of October. <br /> <br />Case #4: Discussion of Gateway North Operations: <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding snow removal at the airport. It was suggested that a <br />recommendation be made to the City to look at doing the airport and rriaking it a priority. <br />Priority meaning "two swipes" day of four (4) inch snowfall with a better cleaning two or three <br />days later. <br /> <br />Airport Commission/September 13, 1989 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
