Case #2: Review of FAA response to Environmental Information Document <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel handed out the letter to each member of the Commission. (See Attachment A) <br />Discussion ensued regarding the contents of the letter. The finding of No Significant impact for <br />airport development has been approved. The paragraph regarding a sanitary landfill was noted <br />and discussed. Chairman Ippel stated it would be a good idea to set up a meeting with MAC, <br />MnDOT, and FAA to see what dollars are available, and to discuss the closing date of the Landfill, <br />etc. The closing information could be obtained from the City Council and Waste Management. <br /> <br />Motion made by Commissioner Emery and seconded by Commissioner Dahlin to recommend to <br />City Council that the airport is techr)ically feasible and financing should be made available. <br />Council should pursue submission of pre-ap and do whatever is necessary to start land <br />acquisition and development. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Ippel, Commissioners Emery, Barnes, Dahlin and Hanson. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Chapman and Greenberg. <br /> <br />There was more discussion regarding the funding and what's available. Chairman Ippel informed <br />the Commission of the Landfill Trust Fund as a possibility for a loan of the money. The <br />Commission has gathered all the information they need and now it's up to the Council to take <br />action with respect to the findings of the Commission. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Dahlin and seconded by Commissioner Emery to recommend to City <br />Council possibly using money from the Landfill Trust Fund as a loan. the principal would be <br />repaid as soon as the airport was reimbursed by FAA or MnDOT. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Ippel, Commissioners Emery, Barnes and Dahlin. Voting <br />No: None. Abstaining: Commissioner Hanson - due to lack of familiarity with issue discussed. <br />Absent: Commissioners Chapman and Greenberg. <br /> <br />Case #3: Review of Attorney General's opinion <br /> <br />No word - there needs to be more research. <br /> <br />Case #4: Review Government Training Service seminar on Parliamentary <br /> Procedure <br /> <br />There was no interest expressed regarding the seminar. <br /> <br />Case #5: Any other business <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the next Commission meeting. The consensus of the Commission <br />was to wait to see if there has been any action taken or direction given by the City Council. <br />Chairman Ippel stated it would probably be on the Council agenda for the first meeting in <br />November.
