DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT iMPACT FOR GATEWAY NORTH INDUSTRIAL AIRPORT RAMSEY, MINNESOTA This Federal Finding has been prepared for proposed development at the Gateway North Industrial Airport, Ramsey, Minnesota. The proposal which was evaluated in the attached Environment~i Assessment (EA)is as follows: Acquisition of approximately 230 acres o~ land including two conunercial establishments and 19 residences to provide public ownership of the airport facility and associated approach zones; paving and recon~iguration of Runway i6/~4 to provide a ,'5' x 3300' hard surface runway; construct parallel and connecting taxiway system; runway lighting and approach ald improvements; obstruction removal~ building area improvements (aprons, hangars, auto parking and airport related activities). Since it is not known at this time if the relocation of County Road 116 will a~fect Anoka County Wetland No. 118, as identified in the EA, the airport sponsor has the responsibility to provide mitigation measures if there is wetland loss resulting from this project. After careful and thorough consideration o~ the facts contained herein, the undersigned ~inds that the proposed Federal acticn is consistent with existing national environmental policies and objectives as set ~orth in Section 10i(a) of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) and that it will not otherwise include any condition requiring consultation pursuant to Section 102(2)(C) of NEPA.
