Highway 10 and Armstrong Boulevard/CR 83 Interchange Construction Update. <br />Construction of the Highway 10 and Armstrong Boulevard interchange project is scheduled to be <br />completed by the end of May. To complete the project on schedule, the following road closures <br />are required. <br />• The westbound Highway 10 on-ramp from Armstrong Boulevard/CR 83 will temporarily <br />close to traffic (2 weeks +/-) on Monday, April 1 Ith. <br />• The Llama Street access for eastbound Highway 10 will permanently close to traffic on <br />Monday, April 11 th. <br />• The median crossover from westbound Highway 10 to Traprock Street will permanently <br />close to traffic sometime before the end of construction. <br />Rain Barrel & Compost Bin Sale. The City of Ramsey has partnered with the Recycling <br />Association of MN, known as RAM, to serve as a distribution site for RAM's annual rain barrel <br />and compost bin sale. Visit RAM's website, recycleminnesota.org, to place an order online. Then <br />pick up your items at the Ramsey Public Works Campus on Friday, May 20 from 9:00 am - 1:00 <br />pm. The first 300 Anoka County residents to order a compost bin before April 15 will be eligible <br />for an additional discount off the sale price! Attached to this Weekly Update is a R,4MRain Barrel & Compost Bin Sale flyer. <br />Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area Rulemaking Moves Into Public Input Phase. The <br />Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is embarking on the next phase of rulemaking <br />for the Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area (MRCCA). The MRCCA is a 72 -mile land <br />corridor along the Mississippi River, governed by special land development regulations that <br />protect and preserve the unique natural, recreational, transportation, and cultural features of this <br />section of the Mississippi River. <br />Over the past five years, City of Ramsey staff have been involved in helping the DNR establish <br />new districts and new land development standards to replace regulations that have become <br />outdated and difficult to administer over time. The next phase in updating these rules will involve <br />taking public input through a formal comment and public hearing process. You may have noticed the City of Ramsey's Utility Department <br />has started its spring watermain flushing, taking place this week through April 22. Please be aware <br />that this flushing may cause lower water pressures and water may be discolored by iron. Iron is a <br />natural occurring element in drinking water that can cause the water to appear rusty. The water is <br />safe for consumption, however may stain clothes so we recommend checking the clarity of your <br />water before doing laundry. On Thursday, April 14, <br />fifty-two 3rd grade students from PACT Charter School will visit the Ramsey City Hall to learn <br />about their local government and tour the facility. The field trip will include a presentation from <br />city staff and a chance to get an up -close look at the Ramsey Police Department, a Ramsey fire <br />truck and Public Works vehicle, as well as the Council Chambers. Staff welcomes all <br />Councilmembers who are interested in participating in the tour from 12:30 -2:00 pm. <br />
