Anoka Technical Institute
1355 West Highway 10, Anoka, MN 55303
School District 11 · (612) 427-1880 · 1-8{)0-247-5588

February 25, 1988

Ramsey City Council
City of Ramsey
15153 NW Nowthen Boulevard
Ramsey, MN 55303

Dear Sirs:

This letter is to inform you of changes and improvements that are projected for the
Aviation Program at Gateway Airport. We currently have 62 students, four buildings, two
full-time instructors, and two part-time employees.

We are requesting from the Vocational Division, Department of Education, additional
programs of Aircraft Dispatcher and Avionics Technician starting in the summer of 1988
and fall of 1989. This may require the addition of one more building, #0 more students,
and an increase of two more full-time instructors. We would be adding additional
equipment that may involve expenditures of $200,000 to $600,000.

You can, therefore, see that we feel the improvement of facilities at Gateway Airport is
extremely important to our program. [ also want to make clear that these programs are a
request only and have not been approved. However, our discussions with the Vocational
Division has led us to believe that they favor expansion of aviation programs.

Sincerely,

Ken Patz, Chairman
Aviation Department

KP/sd]Da

cc: Economic Development Corporation

Minnesota ~' Technical Institute System
an Equal Opportunity Employer
