COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case ~1: Review Draft CODy Of Environmental Assessment: <br /> <br />Mr. Merland Otto presented the preliminary draft of the Environmental <br />Assessment on proposed improvements at Gateway North Industrial Airport. <br />Mr. Otto reported that in general, the environmental assessment does not <br />foresee any significant impact in any of the various categories that could <br />not be mitigated. <br /> <br />Mr. Otto noted that the assessment report does indicate that the project <br />will cost considerably more than previously estimated but still shows <br />economic benefit to the community. Mr. Otto explained that the cost <br />adjustments are the result of much higher fee simple purchases of <br />undeveloped land, commercial property and 5 additional homes (4 of which <br />were built since the completion of the Airport Master Plan) and more costly <br />relocation benefits. <br /> <br />A brief discussion ensued regarding the special election set for April 19, <br />1988 regarding adoption of airport safety zoning. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Donovan and seconded by Commissioner Emery to <br />recommend that City Council use whatever means possible, include the <br />services of Decision Resources, Ltd., to educate the public as to the <br />importance of airport safety zoning prior to the April 19 special election. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Ippel, Commissioners Donovan, <br />Barnes, Chapman, Emery and Greenberg. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />Commissioner Erickson. <br /> <br />Case %2: Discuss Possible Dates For Public Hearing On Environmental <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Donovan and seconded by Commissioner Chapman to <br />tentatively schedule April 12, 1988 as the public hearing date regarding <br />the Environmental Assessment on proposed improvements at Gateway North <br />Industrial Airport. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Ippel, Commissioners Donovan, <br />Barnes, Chapman, Emery and Greenberg. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />Commissioner Erickson. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Chapman and seconded by Commissioner Emery to <br />adjourn the regular Airport Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Ippel, Cor0missioners Donovan, <br />Barnes, Chapman, Emery and Greenberg. Voting No: None.
