Geography from Minnesota State University, Mankato as well as a Masters in Geographic Information <br />Science and a Minor in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota. <br />• Coordinates Multi -Departmental Development Review Process <br />• Primary Staff Liaison to the Planning Commission. <br />• Staff support to Environmental Policy Board (EPB), as needed related to development review <br />projects and supervision of primary Staff Liaison. <br />• Attends Economic Development Authority (EDA) Meetings as needed as it relates to land use <br />issues. <br />Community Development Assistant. The Community Development Assistant provides general support <br />to all team members within the Community Development Department. The Community Development <br />Assistant also provides administrative support to the Planning Commission and EPB. The current <br />Community Development Assistant is JoAnn Shaw. Ms. Shaw has a Bachelors in Communication from <br />the University of Minnesota. <br />• Agendas and Minutes for the Planning Commission, EPB, and Development Review Team. <br />• Primary contact for case assignment for the Planning Division. <br />• Scheduling for Planning Division16 <br />• Primary Back up for Building Division (scheduling, permit issuance, etc.). <br />• Case Management for Code Enforcement (Community Development Team) <br />Community Development Intern. Each year, the City employs a seasonal intern to assist with <br />Community Development activities that equates to a 0.5 FTE (temporary). <br />Administration Software. The City contracts with Local Government Information Systems (LOGIS) to <br />provide software to administer Land Use Applications, Building Permits, Licenses, and Code <br />Enforcement, known as Permit & Inspection Management System (PIMS). This software is used by <br />multiple City departments. The City is active in the ongoing policy and implementation direction of this <br />product as a member of the PIMS User Group. <br />Mapping Consultant. The City contracts with Local Government Information Systems (LOGIS) to provide <br />general geographic information system (GIS) support. LOGIS GIS provides database administration and <br />web map solutions used on a daily basis by City Staff and the public. This group ensures ongoing <br />accuracy of data including property information, address database, street database, etc. These services <br />are especially important during times of new development approval (new streets, new addresses, etc.). <br />• LOGISmap <br />• gGov <br />• Custom Web Maps <br />PLANNING DIVISION (PRE -DEVELOPMENT) <br />City Planner. The City Planner is the primary contact for Zoning Code Administration through the review <br />and approval of Land Use Applications and Building Permits. The City Planner's primary role is to oversee <br />the administration of the Zoning Code. The current City Planner is Chris Anderson. Mr. Anderson holds <br />an undergraduate degree in Urban Forestry from the University of Minnesota and has held the roles of <br />Community Development Staffing Plan <br />Page 2 of 7 <br />DRAFT: April 7, 2016 <br />
