CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 04/12/2016 <br />Submitted For: Jeff Katers, Police By: Jeff Katers, Police <br />4. 8. <br />Information <br />Title <br />Adopt Resolution #16-04-066 Approving State of Minnesota Joint Powers Agreements with the City of Ramsey on <br />Behalf of its City Attorney and Police Department <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Purpose: To update the City's master agreements and court amendments with the State of Minnesota, Department of <br />Public Safety, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) for continued access to Criminal Justice Information <br />Services (CJIS). <br />Background: The State of Minnesota requires all law enforcement agencies and criminal prosecutors that receive <br />CJIS data maintained by the BCA to have master agreements in place. The Ramsey Police Department and the city <br />prosecutors office of Randall & Goodrich subscribe to CJIS data and Court Data Services (CDS). CJIS and CDS are <br />essential to the normal operations of a law enforcement agency and criminal prosecutors in their scope of work. <br />The attached master agreement and amendments define the responsibilities of the City of Ramsey and the State of <br />Minnesota as it relates to access to CJIS and CDS data. These agreements are required by the BCA for continued <br />access to CJIS and CDS data.
