CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Mayor Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember Jill Johns <br />Councilmember Mark Kuzma <br />Councilmember John LeTourneau <br />Councilmember Chris Riley <br />Councilmember Kristine Williams (arrived at 5:36 p.m.) <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Melody Shryock <br />Also Present: <br />City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Police Chief Jeff Katers <br />Parks and Assistant Public Works Superintendent Mark Riverblood <br />Public Works Superintendent Grant Riemer <br />Community Development Director Timothy Gladhill <br />City Planner Chris Anderson <br />City Engineer Bruce Westby <br />Asst. City Administrator/Economic Development Manager Patrick Brama <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Strommen called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:34 p.m. <br />2. TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />2.01: Update Regarding Highway 47 Median Modification at 142"d Avenue NW <br />Brian Carey, MnDOT, provided a handout highlighting the Highway 47 at 142"d Avenue project, <br />which included the updated project schedule. <br />Councilmember Williams arrived. <br />Mr. Carey stated that this intersection was being researched because of the high amount of <br />crashes recorded. He explained the issues occurring were arising because of skewed sightlines, <br />noting that the modified median will prevent left turns from southbound Highway 47 onto <br />eastbound 142nd Avenue. He advised that businesses have been alerted to the project details and <br />schedules and noted that most of the businesses were supportive because they had witnessed the <br />City Council Work Session / April 12, 2016 <br />Page 1 of 6 <br />
