Motion by Ben Deemer and seconded by Chairman Peterson to <br />approve the minutes of the 10/16/79 P & Z Workshop meeting <br />as presented. Motion carried 2 Ayes. Ron West, Art Dunn <br />and John Hubbard abstained. <br /> <br />LETTERS & COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson noted a letter from County Commissioner <br />Edward Fields in response to the P & Z letter of interest <br />and concern relative to solid waste landfill problems. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson presented a letter from the Metropolitan <br />Council regarding an informational meeting to discuss an <br />agricultural land preservation bill now pending before the MN. <br />Legislature. Meeting will be held 11/20 in the Anoka County <br />Court House. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson presented a letter regarding Local Planning <br />Assistance, solar access and solar collectors. The letter is <br />from the Metropolitan Council. This issue to be discussed <br />with Dexter Marston. <br /> <br />CONDITIONAL USB 'PERMIT 'RE'qUE'S'.TZ-i'WI'.L'L'I'AM 'AYDT '''CONTINUATION <br />FtFOM 10/l/'79'--'I~EE'TI'~G <br /> <br />The Commission discussed the proposed Agreement for Mr. Aydt's <br />Conditional Use Permit. <br /> <br />Ben Deemer commented regarding the fence, he stated that he <br />would rather see woven wood fencing used instead of chain link <br />as proposed due to the close proximity of this business to the <br />elementary school, he feels that a chain link fence is not <br />asthetic to the area. <br /> <br />Art Dunn expressed concern that the vehicle storage area be <br />sufficiently sc~eened from public sight and that restraints <br />be put on to prevent t'he parking of semi-trailers etc. <br /> <br />Ron West stated that for security reasons, he feels that chain <br />link is better and costwise it is about the same as wood. <br /> <br />Art Dunn suggested that the same thing be done with the fence <br />as is used for metal buildings, have some metal and some wood. <br /> <br />Mr. Aydt stated that he preferred to use chain-link type fencing <br />for security purposes. <br /> <br />Mr. Hubbard said that the chain link fences he has seen don't <br />last and become an eyesore in a short time, the slats get broken <br />and they are a constant maintenance problem. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson questioned the area to be fenced being 200 feet <br />and Mr. Aydt's reason for this size of an area. <br /> <br />P & Z Regular Meeting <br /> 11/s/79 <br /> Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
