1. Work with the Project Developer in terms of a more detailed irrigation system.
2. Look at the internal plantings and redistributing them within the development.
Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Stodola, Board Member Valentine, Bentz, Bernard,
Covart, and Lewis. Voting No: None. Absent: Board Member Hiatt.
6. BOARD / STAFF INPUT
6.01: Receive Update on 2016 Arbor Day Event
City Planner Anderson provided an update on Arbor Day events. He stated they are looking at
scheduling the event for Thursday, May 12, 2016 at approximately 5:30 p.m. with a fall back date
of Monday, May 16 in case of inclement weather.
6.02: Receive Info on Constructed Soil Systems
City Planner Anderson presented information provided by a local resident relating to constructed
soil systems.
Board Member Covart asked if it would make sense to do something where they have the rain
barrels or compost system, some kind of poster or handouts, which might attract the right crowd.
City Planner Anderson thought it was a good suggestion but not as a poster, maybe a handout. He
stated the pre -sale opportunity to purchase rain barrels or compost bins is open and the distribution
event will be Friday, May 20th from 9:00am to 1:OOpm. He noted Anoka County was able to help
offset the cost of the compost bins but not the rail barrels based on the source of the funding.
6.03 Board Member Farewell
Chairperson Stodola stated this is Board Member's Bentz last meeting and he thanked him for his
years of service on the Board.
7. ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Board Member Valentine and seconded by Board Member Lewis to adjourn the
meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 7:16 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Chris Anderson
City Planner
ATTEST:
Environmental Policy Board / March 21, 2016
Page 5 of 6
