Park and Recreation Commission 5. 1. <br />Meeting Date: 04/14/2016 <br />By: Mark Riverblood, Engineering/Public <br />Works <br />Title: <br />Recommend Certain 2016 Parks Capital Improvements <br />Information <br />Purpose/Background: <br />On a annual basis, the Park and Recreation Commission makes recommendations to City Council for park and trail projects, <br />based upon community need. For 2016 there are 8 projects identified within the Capital Improvement Program, with a wide <br />scope —ranging from grates to secure storm water pipes at The Draw, to the proposed parkway for Central Park, to a irrigation <br />filter system also at The Draw. Four, 2016 projects are ready to move forward for installation. These are listed below with the <br />funding source and estimated project cost: <br />Selected 2016 Parks Capital Improvements <br />Irrigation filter system for The Draw <br />Park Trust Fund (pg #15) <br />$25,000 <br />Drinking Fountain with Pet Station and Mister for Bear Park <br />Park Trust Fund (pg #6) <br />$7,000 <br />Landscape Improvements for the Trott Brook Trail connection <br />Park Trust Fund (pg #11) <br />$7,000 <br />Bituminous Trail connection to the existing Trott Brook Trail <br />Park Trust Fund *(pg #10) <br />W <br />$8,000 <br />Attached for your information is the larger, 2016 - 2020 Parks Capital Improvement Plan. Page numbers for the four projects' <br />worksheets are noted within the table above. <br />Notification: <br />City Council is anticipated to hold a Public Hearing on the city-wide 2016-2020 Capital Improvement Plan on May loth, 2016. <br />Ob servations/Alternatives: <br />As alluded to, staff is in various stages of project development for the eight park and trail related projects.
