4. In order to provide some more interest and structure to the site, 3 bur oak trees will <br />be planted in the project area. <br />5. Native wildflower plugs will be planted to enhance the diversity and aesthetics of the <br />project, as well as to more quickly establish habitat for monarchs. <br />6. Additionally, the city is looking at the possibility of creating rain garden in the blvd <br />area to capture stormwater. The rain garden would be planted with native species <br />that are adapted to the wet and dry conditions that are associated with this type of <br />project. <br />7. An estimate for 4 years of Establishment Period Vegetation Management is included <br />in this proposal. <br />C. Site preparation: Prairie Area <br />1. The project area will be graded as needed before the restoration work begins (to be <br />done by the general contractor or excavator). <br />2. Next spring, allow the site to green up, and then apply a glyphosate herbicide <br />(Roundup° or equivalent) as per manufacturer's directions. Allow a minimum of 10 <br />days before disturbing the vegetation with other procedures. <br />3. Harrow or rake the soil to create a viable seedbed. <br />D.
