CFM <br />Subject: 170th Trail NW Rain Garden <br />City of Ramsey, MN <br />The City of Ramsey is considering constructing a rain garden along 170th Trail NW. The Rain garden <br />would be located between the sidewalk and street, directly in front of the City owned lot. The attached <br />plan sheet was prepared to allow for storm water analysis and cost estimating. Utility verifications are <br />still required to ensure there are no negative impacts associated with construction. <br />Cost Considerations <br />The attached estimate indicates the rain garden will cost approximately $4,115 to construct. If <br />bituminous removal and patching isn't required, the estimate could be reduced to $3,315. If tied to <br />other local street projects, the estimate would most likely be reduced further, as small quantities <br />typically produce higher unit pricing. Another option to reduce costs include work performed by City <br />forces to reduce the number of different trades involved in the project. <br />Hydraulic Considerations <br />The following summarizes the anticipated hydraulic conditions and water quality improvements for the <br />drainage area shown below: <br />Refer to the attached plan sheet which depicts the proposed rain garden configuration. Approximately <br />0.7 acres drain to the proposed rain garden location. Impervious surfaces include one-half of 170th Trail <br />NW, the adjacent sidewalk and the front portions of the homes (including driveways). Currently, one <br />
