P & Z-1- <br />5/7/79 <br /> <br /> Planning'& Zoning <br /> City of'Ramsey <br />county of'Anoka <br />State Of'Minnesota <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Ramsey City Planning & Zoning <br />Commission held a Public Hearing on May 7, 1979 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, <br />15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Chairman Ken Peterson called the Public Hearing to order at 8:15 p.m. with the <br />following in attendance: <br /> <br />Ken Peterson <br />Kathy Schneider <br />Art Dunn <br />Gerry Zimmerman <br /> <br />JOhn Hubbard <br />Ben Deemer <br />Ron West <br /> <br />Also present: <br /> <br />Lloyd Schnelle, City Adm. <br />Peter Raatikka, City Eng. <br /> <br />Chairman Ken Peterson explained that this was a Public Hearing regarding a <br />Special use permit to allow Mr. St. Hilare to repair cars in a residential area <br />at 15428 Nowthen Blvd. Mrs. Weichalt, 15407' Nowthen Blvd. asked Mr. St. Hilaire <br />if he is doing this type~of business now and if so, why is he relocating? <br />Mr. St. Hilaire stated that he'is presently operating out of his garage in Ham <br />Lake, but because his neighbors are too Close wants to relocate for more room. <br />Mr. St. Hilaire stated that there is noise caused by his working late at night. <br /> <br />Mr. David Mott, 15425 Nowthen Blvd. N.W. stated that he has a nice home there, <br />and didn't buy it to live by an auto repair business, so he is opposed to the <br />idea. <br /> <br />Mr. Schuneman 15357 Nowthen pointed out that it is a very exposed parcel, and <br />that he didn't feel it was the correct area for this type of activity. <br />Mr. Schuneman also asked~if the zoning would be changde? The Commission explained <br />that zoning would remain the same but that conditions would be set on the <br />permit. Mrs. Schuneman ~xplained how the property is lower than the surrounding <br />homes, so it is very visible to the neighborhood. <br /> <br />Mr. Weichalt asked if a Petition would make any difference? The proceedure <br />for the permit was explained, and Mr. Dunn stated that everything has to go <br />through due process when asked if a violation would mean immediate shut-down. <br /> <br />Mr. Dave Johnson 15433 Potassium stated that even with restrictions,there was not <br />any way this could be concealed . <br /> <br />Also introduced was a letter of objection from Mr. Terry Lamont, 15421 Nowthen <br />Blvd. N.W. who could not be present. <br /> <br />Hearing Adjourned 8:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />Kathleen Schneider <br /> <br /> <br />
