Kathy Schneide~ stated <br />that she felt this type~o¢ activity would intrease traffic on a road which <br />has enough problems alr~a~, and that there did not seem to be a good, <br />enough reason to ~llow ~h~ retail business in a residential are~. See <br />pointed out that even t~o~gh the neighbors did not appear to minG. at this <br />time. they could not po~;s~ly unders(and completely until after a business <br />had been there a while. ~ ~n West pointed out that the City definitely <br />wanted retail businesSe , ut that they should be in a retail area. <br />A] Sorteberg stated tha~ we wOuld need a very good reason to grant a variance. <br />Brad Bodle agreed with ~1 BOrteberg and mentioned the time involved in <br />der;iFnin[r the ordinance ~to~ pro2ect the residential areas. <br /> <br />Motion by Kathy Schneid~r,~ seconded by Ken Peterson to recount, end to the <br />City Cou[ncil to deny th~ r~que'st by Mike Rausch for a special us¢~ permit <br />for a home occupation o~ a~book and bible store since it was inconsistent <br />with the c~ty ordinance.~ 6~ayes - Gerry Zimmerman voted no. <br />Item ~.
