CC Work Session 2. 1. <br />Meeting Date: 05/24/2016 <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Continued Discussion of the 2016-2020 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The 2016-2020 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) has been prepared as a strategic planning tool to assist the City <br />Council in identifying proposed capital improvement projects over the next five years. The CIP is broken down into <br />the following categories: Capital Improvement Bonding Projects, Equipment Replacement, Municipal Buildings, <br />Park Improvements, Sewer Improvements, Storm Water Improvements, Street Improvements, Street Light <br />Improvements and Water Improvements. <br />Based on the recommendations of the City Council at the work session of April26, 2016 priorities have been <br />assigned to each project within the CIP. Five priorities have been added with a brief definition of use. <br />Projects in the CIP are listed at full cost and not just the city's share. Those items that are funded by outside sources <br />are itemized under the funding source: "Grants/Outside Sources'. <br />A supplemental section titled 'Future Consideration Projects' has also been included. This is a listing of park projects <br />that are prioritized by need and contingent upon availability of resources. These projects are unfunded and <br />unscheduled until resources become available. <br />The request to schedule a public hearing to consider adoption of the 2016-2020 Capital Improvement Plan will be <br />placed on the consent agenda of the regular City Council meeting of May 24, 2016.
