PLANNING & ZONING MEETING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> COUNTY' OF ANOKA <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A regular meeting of th~ Ramsey Planning & Zoning Commission was held on <br />June 7, 1976, at 7:00 p~m., at Ramsey Elementary School, 15000 Nowthen <br />Boulevard, Ramsey, Minnesota 55303 <br /> <br />PRESENT: Thomas Gamec, iRonald West, Allen Sorteberg, Chairman;'Thomas <br /> Moorhouse, Gerald Zimmerman and also present, Clerk-Treasurer <br /> Walker. ~ <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING on RUM'AQRES'ESTATE'2ND ADDITION was called to order <br />by Chairman Sor~e~r~' 'ag 7:10 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Robert Neary presented his preliminary plat. <br /> <br />Mr. Arthur Freichels, 14~40 Juniper Ridge Drive N.W., opposed having <br />Juniper Ridge Drive continue to the west by his house on Lot 3, Block <br /> <br />Mrs. Richard Stadfelt, 1~111 Juniper Ridge Drive N.W., also opposed the <br />continuation of Juniper Ridge Drive N.W., as a thoroughfare. <br /> <br />Motion by Gerald Zimmerm~n to close the hearing, seconded by Ronald West <br />~ carried 5 to O. ~ <br /> <br />Public hearing adjournediat 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />The regular meeting was Called to order by Chairman Sorteberg at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Thomas Gamec tO approve the minutes of the May 3, 1976, Planning <br />& Zoning Commission meeting, seconded by Thomas Moorhouse and carried 5 to O. <br /> <br />Rum Acres Estates 2nd Addition. Discussion centered around extending Juniper <br />Ridge Drive N.-W., ~6 the!west. It was noted that this street is designated <br />as a Minnesota State AidiStreet. <br /> <br />Motion by Thomas Gamec td approve the preliminary plat of Rum Acres Estates <br />2nd Addition with the stiipulation that 80' easement is to be placed at the <br />end of Juniper Ridge DriVe N.W., in accordance with the City Engineer's report <br />dated May 3, 1976, and subject to a park donation of $100 per lot, Motion <br />seconded by Ronald West ~nd carried 4 to 1. Thomas Moorhouse voted Naye. <br />Variance request from Mr' John Schutz, 16017 Nowthen Boulevard. <br /> <br />Mr. Schutz is asking for ~ variance for building a carport. The required <br />setback is 40' from Highway No. 5 right-of-way. The carport as it exists <br />at present is 29.5' on on~ corner and 36.0' on the other corner. Mr. <br />Schutz's neighbors do notiobject to him having a carport. <br /> <br />Motion by Thomas Gamec, s~conded by Thomas Moorhouse to recommend a variance <br />to Mr. Schutz of 10.5 andl4' for his carport. Motion carried 5 to O. <br /> <br /> <br />
