Councilmember Kuzma introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #16-04-084 RESOLUTION TO HIRE SEASONAL PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKERS AND TEMPORARY INTERNS WHEREAS, annually the City employs Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Workers to perform work in the Parks, Streets, and Utilities Divisions of Public Works and Interns to work in Administrative Services, Community Development, Engineering, and Parks; and WHEREAS , staff has found a significant benefit to seasonal public works maintenance workers and interns; and WHEREAS , staff selected 11 qualified entry level seasonal candidates; and WHEREAS, staff selected 2 qualified semi-entry level seasonal candidates to work in the recently established semi-entry level seasonal role as allowed by the 2015 - 2016 AFSCME labor agreement; and WHEREAS , staff selected 4 qualified interns; and WHEREAS, candidates passed the pre-employment screening; and all WHEREAS, staff recommends hiring the selected 2016 candidates listed below. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) Motion to adopt resolution #16-04-084 to hire the following employees: A.Entry level seasonal employees: A.First year: Daniel Jacob, Gunnar Ledin, Karlee Money, Jayden Stone, Bradley Beaver, Alex Foyt, and Jacob Vanness at $10.00 per hour with start dates ranging from mid-May to early June. B.Second year and greater: Taylor Bushinski, Taylor Moshier, Ethan Scheuring, and Jake Marks at $10.25 per hour with start dates ranging from mid-May to early June. Semi-entry level seasonal employees: Tim Barrett and Tom Marks at $16.57 per hour for up to 6-months, beginning in April. C.Interns: Shelby Eden at $12.00 per hour, Nathaniel Greenwald at $13.00 per hour, Logan Czech and Lucinda Meyers at $14.00 per hour with start dates ranging from April to May.
