Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #16-05-099 <br />RESOLUTION TO HIRE A PATROL OFFICER TO FILL THE CURRENT VACANCY <br />WHEREAS, a Patrol Officer was hired on November 10, 2015 and departed City <br />employment on January 29, 2016; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff determined the previous recruitment file did not have the potential to <br />result in a successful hiring process; therefore, a new recruitment was conducted; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff selected Mr. Brandon Elliott as the top candidate for the Patrol Officer <br />position; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff has completed the necessary background checks and is recommending <br />that Mr. Elliott be hired as the City's new Patrol Officer, effective June 1, 2016, at $24.56 per <br />hour, which is step 1 of the 2016 wage scale; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Elliott will be subject to a 1 -year probationary period and all other <br />personnel policies will apply normally. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) Motion to adopt resolution 416-05-099, to hire Mr. Brandon Elliott as the City's new <br />Patrol Officer effective on or near June 1, 2016 at $24.56 per hour, which is step 1 of the <br />2016 wage scale. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Kuzma, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Strommen <br />Councilmember Riley <br />Councilmember Kuzma <br />Councilmember Johns <br />Councilmember Shrock <br />Councilmember Williams <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />
