Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #16-05-098 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION MASTER PARTNERSHIP CONTRACT WORK ORDER FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #15-23 TRUNK HIGHWAY 47 PEDESTRIAN CROSSWALK IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is a political subdivision, organized and existing under the laws of the State of Minnesota; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey executed Limited Use Permit 40206-0028 with the State of Minnesota, Department of Transportation, for the purpose of constructing, operating and maintaining pedestrian trail facilities within the right-of-way of Trunk Highway 47 (TH 47 = C.S. 0206); and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is party to Master Partnership Contract 41001234 with the State of Minnesota, Department of Transportation, for the purpose of undertaking collaborative efforts for the design, construction, maintenance and operation of state and local roads by writing Work Orders against the Master Partnership Contract to provide the greatest speed and flexibility in responding to identified needs; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey proposes to construct, operate and maintain a pedestrian crosswalk on TH 47 at Nowthen Boulevard/Anoka County State -Aid Highway 5 (CSAH 5) and Xkimo Street to provide a pedestrian connection between existing trail facilities located north of CSAH 5 and west of TH 47, and east of TH 47 within MnDOT right-of-way, designated as Improvement Project 415-23, TH 47 Pedestrian Crosswalk Improvements; and WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota, Department of Transportation, has reviewed and approved the City's plans for Improvement Project 415-23, and approves of entering into a Work Order for constructing said crosswalk improvements. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the City Engineer to enter into a Work Order with the State of Minnesota, Department of Transportation, for the purpose of constructing a pedestrian crosswalk on TH 47 at Nowthen Boulevard/CSAH 5 and Xkimo Street, designated as Improvement Project 415-23, TH 47 Pedestrian Crosswalk Improvements. 2) That the City shall construct said crosswalk improvements in accordance with Master Partnership Contract 41001234. 3) That the City shall construct, operate and maintain said crosswalk in accordance with Limited Use Permit 40206-0028 granted by the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
